Exhibition: July 10 - September 7, 2007

A consortium of six public galleries anchored at opposite ends of the country have formed to curate the activity North & South. The six members of this consortium are split evenly between the coastal cities of Southampton and Sunderland and are as follows: City of Southampton Galleries, John Hansard Gallery, Millais Gallery, National Glass Centre, Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art and the Reg Vardy Gallery.

North & South will address issues of diversity and identity in relation to the theme of 'Englishness' through an exhibition, educational programme and publication. The exhibition will be comprised of thirty artists' works. Half of these artists will be commissioned through a national open call to create new works responding to this theme.

The nine artists exhibiting at Reg Vardy Gallery are Andrew Dodds, Nick Jordan & Jacob Cartwright, Daniel Bligh, Susan Diab, Sarah Warden & Matt Hearn, and Shaun Doyle & Mally Mallinson.

North & South is coordinated and initaited by Reg Vardy Gallery.

All Reg Vardy Gallery events and exhibitions are FREE and open to the public.
